Kevin Van Buskirk, CAIA

Kevin Van Buskirk is a Vice President on the Custom Alternative Solutions team at 50 South Capital. He is responsible for managing customized alternative investment portfolios across private assets and hedge funds. In this role, Kevin collaborates with clients to build alternative investment portfolios tailored to their individual objectives and preferences, providing guidance on portfolio construction, asset allocation, investment selection, and risk and liquidity management.

Prior to joining 50 South Capital, Kevin led private markets due diligence at CAPTRUST, a North Carolina-based registered investment advisor. In that role, he was responsible for evaluating investment managers across private assets and hedge funds and served on the firm's Portfolio Management Committee, overseeing private market investments within discretionary client portfolios. Before joining CAPTRUST through its acquisition of Ellwood Associates in 2021, Kevin spent more than a decade at Ellwood Associates in research and consulting roles, leading manager research efforts and advising institutional investors on alternative investment programs.

Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics. He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and a member of the CAIA Association.
